If you haven’t heard, we are not able to order club sweatshirts due to our lack of orders. We will try later on this year to get club shirts, so feel free to send in your designs at any time or when we start announcing it.
If you are interested in participating in our dance events (Diversity Week performance @ DLS, Winton Arts Dance Showcase @ CHS), practices have already begun. It’s not too late to sign up, so if you’re interested, please see Rachel or Maegan. Our current agenda is Pandanggo (which has already been casted) and Subli (which has not started yet). If there is time, we may add Tinikling for those who have already performed it last year. We are open to accepting anybody — even those who can’t get their feet and arms coordinated! :P
Our current focus is planning for Diversity Week (set for the last week of February, 2/22-2/26). We have already sent in a food list, but we still need ideas for activities to do during lunch. Ideas already given are “Learn How to Tinikling” and some sort of Wowowee game. Just think — if you were bored and had nothing to do during lunch, what would you like to see API doing?

Last day to send in your shoes for our shoe drive is on Monday, October 5th! Come to the next meeting for some upcoming events we have planned.

Tomorrow’s meeting (and the rest of our meetings) will be held in the OC at DLS.
if you don’t know how to get to the OC, walk towards the gym, and before the breezeway you will see a giant room with windows and like 4 tables in it. We needed the huge room to accommodate our large club!

As you all may know, CHS’ club rush is this thursday, and we decided to make leis and hand them out to people that come to our booth to spread API awareness. There’s only one problem- we arent finished with the leis, so we need all of the current members to unite tomorrow at lunch in our old stomping grounds, DM-2!
if you can’t make it its okay, but you will also be missing out on Nicole and Sammie practicing for the Welcome Back Rally. So that is just another reason to go tomorrow!
Club Rush
CHS Campus on 9/10
DLS Campus on 9/24 (date pending)
Rachel and Maegan will run the booth for CHS. It will be closed campus this day, so any girls that could help us will be appreciated. We are planning on passing out leis with tags for our first meeting. We will also be passing out flyers about our club for those who are interested.
The whole board will run the booth for DLS. Still waiting for more information.
Shoe Drive
To collect shoes for Kindergarten through 12th grade students (grade school and high school) to send to the Philippines. We will combine this project with both the DLS and CHS campuses.
(Edit: We can’t do this project at school *sad face*, so if any club-goers still want to do this, we can still do this project independently in our club.)

Hey Guys!
So the mass was a success.. got some positive feedback. I know for sure that a lot of the girls really appreciated their part in the mass and definitely want to do more (or all) of the masses at DLS from now on…lol.
I just want to mention that being a part of API has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Before I joined API, I was basically a wreck — I was dealing with a lot of emotional problems and was socially uncomfortable. I am beyond thankful that I have a place to look forward to in the day, after the unseen and hidden loneliness I often felt. I feel more motivated to show up, I’m starting to feel even more positive about school. API has been a great escape for me. I know this ties back to my experience with API last year, but all I’ll ever take back from my years as a Sophomore, and possibly a Junior (and hopefully as a Senior as well), are the memories I made with API and the few people I’ve met along the way.
I know this is the beginning of API for this year, and the mass was a great kick-off, but I’m really glad to hear the excitement for the upcoming year. I know with your support we can make this an awesome year. :)
Just a small thank you.. wow it feels like I’m saying goodbye or something, but it’s only the beginning lol.
